會議宗旨:

聯合國教科文組織針對小島型開發中國家 (Small island developing states, SIDS)，提出小島型開發中國家主要分布在加勒比海、太平洋、印度洋和太平洋地區，是地球上最美麗的地方之一，有著白色的沙灘環境、群山、歷史悠久的港口和城鎮，以及傳統的農業景觀。現今小島型國家面臨如海洋和沿海地區管理，氣候變遷的影響，以及永續發展等問題。本研討會並藉由邀請國際學者專題演說、公開發表學術論文及共同討論的研究與實務案例交流，並與國際間的海洋、島嶼學術研究接軌，以提昇我國的島嶼學術水準，促進島嶼的永續發展。

研討會主題:

一.海洋生物科技相關議題:

內容涵蓋海洋生物資源保育、海洋生物資源復育、海洋養殖技術、海洋生技產品、農漁產業發展趨勢及其他海洋生技相關議題。

二.綠色能源科技相關議題:

內容涵蓋風力能、太陽能、再生能源及綠色能源產業相關議題。

三.玄武岩文化相關議題:

內容涵蓋與玄武岩相關之議題:包括玄武岩文化、石滬文化、水下遺產及玄武岩地質等相關議題。

四.其他相關議題:

經營管理及島嶼永續發展等議題。

Conference Theme:

The UNESCO addresses that “the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are islands of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans. They are some of the most beautiful places on Earth, with atolls of white sand beaches, mountain ranges covered in cloud forest, historic ports and towns, and agricultural landscapes.”

As Island states confronted several issues such as costal and marine knowledge and management, climate change, and sustainable development. The conference invites international speakers to give talks, and calls for papers in contributing towards a new vision of research papers and sharing case studies to strengthening scientific researches and cooperation in Taiwan and promoting sustainable development of islands.

Conference Sessions:

1. Marine Biotechnology Session:

This session includes marine biological diversity, marine aquaculture, marine biotechnology and fisheries.

2. Green Energy Technology Session:

This session includes wind, solar, renewable energy and green energy industry related issues.

3. Basalt Stone Culture Sessions:

This session includes basalt stone related cultures, stone fish weirs, underwater heritage and geological related issues.

4. Other Issue Sessions:

Coastal and marine management and sustainable development issues.
